If you think cars are connected now, just wait and see what’s to come in the future. Nissan’s new IDS Concept, which was just unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, exhibits what may be to come in Nissan’s electric car lineup and its features are spectacular.
IDS not only offers smart autonomous driving technology and an advanced electric powertrain, but also exciting in-cabin technologies that truly connect people face to face and remotely. Particularly, when IDS is in Pilot Drive Mode, something crazy happens: The steering wheel recedes and is replaced by a smiling iPad and a longer flat screen. Plus all four seats turn inward, which makes it easier for passengers to engage in conversation. The information screens provide social media feeds, route updates, weather details and more. Additionally, voice and touch commands allow users to easily navigate the information center, while relaxing in an environment that features soft illumination, mesh leather and high-quality materials all over.
