Launching in conjunction with Nissan's historic college athletic sponsorship, the Diehard Fan App gives college football fans around the nation a new way to show their team pride. The tradition of face painting has been taken into the digital era with the free app, which utilizes carefully hand-painted game faces and augmented reality to provide a truly realistic look when added to pictures and videos.
Nissan recently signed on to sponsor 100 men's and women's collegiate teams, which is the biggest college sports sponsorship that's ever taken place in history. The new Diehard Fan App gives college football fans the ability to choose from thousands of different game faces, which represent pretty much all of the teams that Nissan is sponsoring.
A world-renowned face-painting champion painted the faces on human models and then they were digitally remastered, which is how such a realistic look is achieved. Download the app for free on your iPhone or Android device, upload your fav selfie or video, apply any number of digital game faces and see how awesome they look for yourself.
"The Diehard Fan mobile app delivers on Nissan's brand promise of innovation and excitement for everyone," said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications & Media at Nissan North America. "This is just one way for sports fans to unleash their colors anywhere, anytime, and engage with Nissan and our College 100 Sponsorship of men's and women's college sports programs throughout the U.S."
