Nissan’s long-term partnership with Habitat for Humanity has been officially renewed, and on behalf of the continued venture, the automaker is presenting a $1 million grant to the organization. The newly offered funds will go to helping build more affordable homes for those in need, carrying out the non-profit’s mission.
"Nissan values its partnership with Habitat for Humanity because it delivers strong results each year in building sustainable communities in the areas where our employees live and work," said Nissan vice president Rebecca Vest. "Our employees look forward to working alongside future homeowners, and their experiences affirm our corporate mission to enrich people's lives."
Over the course of Nissan’s 11-year partnership with Habitat for Humanity, the company has contributed over $14 million to the organization. Their latest contribution will not only go to building homes, a portion will also be used to expand the organization’s vehicle fleet, which is used to carry out disaster relief efforts.
Additionally, as a part of their venture with Habitat for Humanity, Nissan employees will assist in building homes in 12 Habitat communities. Among those include Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit, Nashville and right here in Phoenix.
"We thank Nissan for continuing to give back to communities across the country," said Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International. "We are grateful for their long-term support and commitment to help families build strength, stability and self-reliance."
